Took
the Mohawk Highway across Massachusetts and had the unusual experience
of meeting someone who has a WHITE SENO! Well, pretty doggone close
anyway. Ed and Nancy trailed me into the Johnny Appleseed Rest Stop
where I was about to take a picture of a bronze Johnny holding a basketful
of apples (I had added a fresh yellow banana to the scupture for color).
We had a real gab fest about what to do with this kind of car and I told
them about the Nationals meet in Carlyle, PA in a couple of weeks.
I said that I couldn't make it but they should.
I tootled
on down the road and realized that I REALLY, REALLY want to go to that
event so maybe the travel gods will bless me and I'll make it.
Now this
next part you won't believe. I know the folks there at the Getaway
Mountain Campgrounds had a hard time believing it. The roadster has
a new name, given to him by Stan: world's smallest RV. I did
the impossible, I camped AND SLEPT in Seno at this very wonderful campgrounds
and Ellen, Dave and Jason are my witnesses! I even got sprinkled
on but the cover was dry by morning. When I get the photos processed
and sent, you'll see how I did it. I was so comfortable that I slept
in til 7 am.
Stopped
in Claremont, NH and they are making a new set of glasses for me at the
Walmart there. Say what you want about Walmart but they're saving
my bacon today--they fixed my clear glasses that fell apart and they're
making a back up set for me due tomorrow!
Stopped
off at New London's talk radio show and met Arnie who interviewed me a
couple of months ago regarding the Red Hat Society. She has her phone
pulled out into the parking lot and sitting on her car! Why?
Because it's such a nice day, she said. Cool! Now there's an
Oregonian attitude for you!
